Its been a while since I last posted on my blog. I have really busy with life and busy with work.

A lot has happened since. For instance, Michael Vick is back, Peyton Manning is having a rough stretch right now, the tough talking NY Jets just got their behind kicked by New England, the US got snubbed by FIFA, LeBron James still being hated by almost everyone after announcing that he's taking his talents to South Beach, Tiger Woods got beat for the first time in his career when leading by 3 shots or more..and not to mention not winning a single tournament in one year, Urban Meyer stepping down as Head coach from Florida, citing he wants to spend more time with family -- I think he's going to meet up with his beloved quarterback Tim Tebow and coach the Denver Broncos..., and finally Kelly Slater wins his unprecedented 10Th World Title..

I also have to mention that my idol, Andy Irons passed away on Nov.2 this year. ESPN reported that Billabong, one of Irons’ major sponsors, issued this statement: "He fell ill in Puerto Rico and went to see the contest doctor. The doctor told him to withdraw from the contest and go back home to fix the disease." But now reports are coming out that Andy's death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose because some was found in the Texas hotel room where he died. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office revealed this new information that the drug Methadone was found inside a container of a prescription drug called Zolpidem, a drug frequently prescribed for insomnia. The container, along with several other medications, was found on a nightstand. I'm just hoping that after the autopsy, which could take up to 90 days to complete, that his death wasn't due to drug overdose.... RIP ANDY...

Alex Rodriguez admits to taking performance enhancing drugs

Alex Rodriguez's admission to using steroids came two days after Sports Illustrated reported on its Web site that he was among 104 names on a list of players who tested positive in 2003. Back then, testing was intended to determine the extent of steroid use in baseball. The results were not subject to disciplinary actions by Major League Baseball and were supposed to remain anonymous or classified... Well..now it no longer is.

“Back then it was a different culture,” A-Rod said. “It was very loose. I was young. I was stupid. I was naive, and I wanted to prove to everyone that, you know, I was worth, you know—and being one of the greatest players of all time.”

“When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure. I felt like I had all the weight of the world on top of me and I needed to perform, and perform at a high level every day,”

“And I did take a banned substance and, you know, for that I’m very sorry and deeply regretful. And although it was the culture back then and Major League Baseball overall was very—I just feel that—You know, I’m just sorry. I’m sorry for that time. I’m sorry to fans. I’m sorry for my fans in Texas. It wasn’t until then that I ever thought about substance of any kind.”

Rodriguez told ESPN on Monday he used banned substances while playing with the Texas Rangers from 2001-03 and that he didn’t do it before that and quit during spring training in 2003. He was traded to the New York Yankees before the 2004 season, and said he hasn’t used since.

When you don't know how to LOVE

Its difficult to love someone when you don't know how to love. I wish I knew how. Ever since my very first relationship, which lasted four years ended about four or five years ago, I find myself always having the following relationships end in a very short period of time. It seems like I'm not capable of loving fully and openly like I once did. Having my heart broken badly on my first relationship probably made me the person I am today. I get very jealous. I think I've become an insecure person. I've become a very selfish and childish.

In my recent relationship, I have hurt her in so many ways. Not a day goes by that we don't have fights. Of course being the self centered and jealous and selfish and insecure person I am, I'd always start the fights with her, even though it wasn't my intention. Is it a "trust" issue? Maybe it is.... Maybe thats part of what kind of a person I am today....

I wish I could turn back time when I knew how to love someone. I wish I could get back that feeling of loving unconditionally. I wish I could love someone with out hurting her. I'm not blaming all this on my first relationship that broke my heart but instead putting the blame on myself for becoming who I am and what I've become. I guess I chose to be like this. I chose to be defensive, jealous, selfish and insecure. I have to change myself before its too late and end up with no one and be lonely for the rest of my life....
I wish I knew how....
I wish I knew how to get myself back on track...
I wish I know how to love again...

For the person who I hurt so deeply, I'm very sorry...

Ravens beat Titans

It was a hard fought game. Numerous players getting injured. Players limping out of the field or taking some time to get up. Hard hitting, low scoring, hard nose football game that was dominated by the defense of both teams. The Tennessee Titans committed 3 turnovers and committed 12 penalties for 89 yards. Tennessee had 5 fumbles with two of them lost. But despite committing those errors, Tennessee managed to keep the game close through out the game. Final score was 13-10.

Are the Ravens like the NY Giants of last year? So far they have won two road games on the road. Not to mention that the Ravens have a rookie Head Coach and a rookie quarterback. Joe Flacco became the first rookie quarterback in NFL History to win 2 playoff games.

NY Giants win a tough one against the Carolina Panthers

The Giants clinch home field advantage in NFC throughout the playoffs. In a tough game against the really good Panther team, the Giants come together and rally behind the good running attack led by Derrick Ward(215 yards) and Brandon Jacobs (87 yards).
Eli Manning also had a good game. He wasn't really great but threw lasers when needed.
Kevin Boss also made big plays. He caught a crucial touchdown.
The Giants' offensive line paved the way for the running backs to run the ball efficiently. The Giants had a total rushing yards of 302. I guess you could say, "what the Panthers do best, the Giants can do it too..".

The Panthers scored touchdowns the first three possession in the ball game. The defense gave up 4 rushing touchdowns to running back DeAngelo Williams.
The Panthers had a chance to win the game in regulation but the swirling wind at Giants Stadium pushed John Kasey's 50-yard field-goal attempt wide left, sparking some more celebratory snow throwing by Giants fans.
"Give them credit," Delhomme said. "They battled back and made the plays they had to. They beat us. That's why this game is so much fun. One is excited. The other is totally devastated. That would be us."

Kelly Slater wins his 6th Pipeline Masters 2008

Kelly Slater has already wrapped up his 9Th World Title. He has won 6 out of 11 events this year including the Pipe Masters. Clearly he is the Michael Jordan of surfing, the Wayne Gretzky of surfing or the Lance Armstrong of surfing all wrapped up in one. The guy is like, as they say, fine wine..... he gets better with age.

Kelly won his 6Th Pipeline Master on Friday Dec. 12 on some pretty good waves. Slater has made the Pipeline Masters final 10 out of the 17 times. He has entered the event winning in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999 and again on Dec 12th. His 2008 win comes nine years after he last clinched the Pipeline crown in ‘99.

"It’s inexplicable,” Slater said of his win and banner season. “I’m just stoked. I wasn’t even worried about surfing the event, so to surf it and win and get that board (a Gerry Lopez designed surfboard trophy). I’ll cherish that for sure."

Glen "Big Baby" Davis lives up to his nickname..

On Dec. 5, the defending NBA Champs, Boston Celtics were at home battling a good team from the west, the Portland Trailblazers. The Celtics were pretty much in control of the game and enjoying a 25 point lead. However, when the starters were taken out for the bench players to relieve them, Kevin Garnet was not at all pleased when their huge 25 point lead shriveled up to 11 points in the 4Th quarter. During a timeout, Garnet pulled all of those bench players, including the "big baby" and was absolutely steaming. I don't exactly know what Garnet said to his teammates but whatever it is, after the barrage from Garnet, "big baby" went to the end of the bench and was fighting back tears.....such a baby.... hahahaha..!!!

Characteristics that Women look for in a Man

I'm no expert when it comes to something like this but everything I'm saying here is just my personal opinion and what I've noticed and experienced.

I think Women are attracted to:

Sense of Humor

I think this is also one of the characteristic that women look for. If you can make a woman laugh, she will love spending time with you. But men, like me, have to figure out what makes her laugh. Some women laugh on just about anything, or laugh about just the silliest things and some have a "green" sense of humor...meaning those dirty jokes. Making a woman laugh is probably one of the biggest characteristics you can have.

Being responsible

I think this is also one of the characteristic that women look for right away when they meet someone. If you are a guy who does nothing and doesn't take responsibility for anything in your life, whether it be emotionally, physically, mentally and even financially then don't be surprised if she gets turned-off easily.

Being Honest and trustworthy

There's nothing that women hate most of all about men than being a liar. That being said, there's a fine line as to which is acceptable lie or those little lies like what men would say if you're wife or girlfriend asks "Does this dress look good? or Does this make me look fat?" Plaxico Burress' season takes a hit

Even before the season started, Plaxico's ankle sprain kept him off the field and missed all of training camp...at least he insist that's the reason why and not the contract dispute with the Giants.

Another incident this season was that Burress was suspended for a game against Seattle on Oct. 5 and fined $117,500 for missing a team meeting and failing to notify the team of his absence. He said he had a family emergency.

He also was fined $45,000 by the NFL for his conduct during an Oct. 19 game against 49ers in which he abused an official and tossed a ball into the stands.

When asked last month in discussing his runs-ins with the team, Burress said, “Like I said, I am human,”. “I have made some mistakes. I haven’t made the best of decisions, I am aware of that, and I am the first one to look myself in the mirror, be honest with myself, and say that.”

Plax started the game last week against the Cardinals but didn't play the rest of the game after the first play. He was also scratched from the line against the Redskins this Sunday due to a hamstring injury but his recent incident......accidentally shooting himself in the right thigh on Friday night and spent the night in the hospital, was an additional reason for him to be unable to play. A team official told The Associated Press that Burress shot himself in a nightclub. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the team was still trying to sort out all the facts.

The NY Giants crushes the Baltimore Raven's No. 1 ranked defense in rushing. Brandon Jacobs rushed for 73 yards with 2 TD's while Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick ward rushed for 96 and 41 yards respectively. The Giants had a total of 210 rushing yards against a defense who only allows less than 70 rushing yards per game. People have said that it would be a tough running against this defense but the Giants hit them and attacked them where they're good at. If that's not "imposing your will" against another team, I don't know what is.

The Giants have a very good offensive line. They very under rated but is now getting the attention. The defense of course needed to be stiff as well... which they were. That's why the Giants are now 9-1 on the season because they are playing together. The Giants did it against tough opponents the previous weeks, they won a tough and grinding game against the Pittsburgh Steelers then won another tough one against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Lets keep winning these games GIANTS!!! and finish strong..! I'm not saying anything about playoffs or anything like that but the GIANTS have to continue what they are doing and not get complacent or get cocky. GO GIANTS....!!!!!

Giant Spider eats Bird

Check this one out.... A giant Golden Orb Weaver spider caught a chestnut-breasted mannikin bird in its web and has it for lunch.. and maybe for dinner or maybe have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner for weeks.

The photo was snapped in a backyard in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. That is one big spider! and that is one poor bird. How strong is the web of that spider that a bird could get caught in it and not able to escape?

"Normally they prey on large insects, it's unusual to see one eating a bird," (said head spider keeper Joel Shakespeare at the Australian Reptile Park.)

Mr Shakepeare told ninemsn he had seen golden orb weaver spiders as big as a human hand but the northern species in tropical areas were known to grow larger...

"(The spider) would not eat the whole bird," he told ninemsn.

"It uses its venom to break down the bird for eating and what it leaves is a food parcel," he said.

Dallas Cowboys: How the mighty have fallen

Before the season started, analysts predicted that the Dallas Cowboys would be the team to beat in the NFC despite losing to the NFL champs New York Giants who beat them in the first round of the playoffs last year. For the first three games of the 20008 season, the analysts seemed to be right on the money however, the mighty Cowboys now have a record of 4-3. They have lost 3 of their last 4 games. They recently got beat by the woeful St. Louis Rams by the score of 34-14. Tony Romo did not play due to a broken pinkie on his throwing arm that he sustained during another loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

The "very talented" Cowboys team should have not been beaten so badly. Their previous two losses to the Redskins and the Cardinals, were competitive and hard fought games, but this latest loss to the Rams was about as bad as I have seen them play. Sure, losing Tony Romo is a big blow to your offense, but they have to play through it. They have to come together. The defense only lost Adam "waste of money" Jones because of off-the field incident...again...., but still that's no excuse for giving up 34 points to the Rams. Surely the defense can muster some thing to pump up the "down" offense and give them a chance to win....or atleast make it a close and competitive game..but no, the entire team just fell apart.

I don't know if this is what Manny really needs. A fight with Oscar who is taller and bigger and has about a 5"-6" reach advantage. Even though Oscar is older and is towards the end of his career, he is not a knock out waiting to happen, not even close. Oscar fought some of the hardest hitting fighters in world. Oscar went toe to toe with Felix Trinidad and Shane Mosley and he didn't even get seriously hurt. Manny’s power won’t be the same at 147 as it was at 135. Sure, Manny has his advantages like his younger age and Oscar even admitted that Manny is faster than him but I think Oscar is a wily veteran.

I'm still looking forward to a good fight. I'm still picking Manny to win but this fight will probably be one of the toughest test. Manny deserves credit for taking on the challenge that Oscar would not and that is "ducking" WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito. Manny has so many physical disadvantages, but he took the fight regardless. Did Manny take this fight because of "Chachingggg..?" I don't know. Maybe...

I can't really give a "look" to a woman because of two things: first, I'm not good looking and second, I'm not good looking. If I do give a woman a look, I'm sure it will come out creepy or weird or just plain "eeewww.." And women will probably just laugh at me. If I were a Brad Pitt or a Tom Cruise, then giving a "look" would make the ladies squeal and faint instead of shriek and laugh. That being said, I do have another side of me that can probably make women go "aawwwwwwww....how cute". I'll just show them my cute face like this...

In the filming of World War Two picture "Valkyrie" in Berlin last year, twelve movie extras were injured on August 19, 2007. A side panel of a period German army truck burst open as it drove around a corner in central Berlin. They suffered broken bones, cuts and bruises and are now seeking damages from Tom Cruise and his production company. How much are they asking for..? $11 million...Yaiks..!

A lawyer for the extras told Reuters Television on Tuesday that witness statements indicated the truck's side panel had not been properly secured.

"Valkyrie" by the way is named after the codename for a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler concocted by senior German military officers during World War Two. Cruise plays ringleader Claus von Stauffenberg.

This is probably why the film's original release date was postponed to December 26 from July 4 this year. Probably not a good movie to watch for the holidays. But who knows, If its a really good movie, it won't matter when the movie is released.

Delicious Recipe

Chef Tafari Campbell from Maryland created this scrumptious and delicious recipe. Just seeing a photo of it makes me hungry. The dish that I think is the best and voted for is called Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots.

In the site, www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com, There were a number of chefs from different parts of the country in which they had a cook off. They had to be creative becuase they had to cook using some mystery ingredients like for example Southwest Airline Peanuts or select brews from Michelob Brewing Co. And then it was narrowed down to five chefs and then we get to vote which one we think is the best. Actually I had a hard time deciding which one to vote for because everything just looked so good. There's Colorado Striped Bass Panzanella by Chef Paul Anders from Colorado, which I think is a really close second. There's also Louisiana Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet by Chef Brian Landry from Louisiana. Of all the foods, I love sea foods the best. I have previously posted about my favorite food and mentioned that I would rather eat seafood than anything else. The only thing I would change about all of these recipes is that I would add more seafood. I would add lobster tails, jumbo shrimps, scallops and etc. It would probably compromise the taste because of overloaded seafood meat, that's maybe why I'm not a chef because I would just stuff my face with all of the seafood meat that I can get.

I'm not exactly a chef because the only thing I know how to cook is fried stuff..hehehe..! Even when I screwed up the recipe that I tried, it was still good enough...how much more if it was actually cooked and made well. But of course, none of the food you cook will taste great if its not made with fresh ingredients. So stop by your local market and get the freshest produce or seafood available.

Here's the recipe.

Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots.

3 pounds Rockfish
Salt & Pepper, to taste
1 Tablespoon Thyme
8 ounces Crab or Shrimp
Butter, as needed

Cut the Rockfish into 16 two ounce portions. Season Rockfish with salt, pepper and chopped thyme. Season crab or shrimp with salt and red pepper. Sauté in butter. Sauté Rockfish over medium heat on one side remove from sauté pan. Remove excess grease from saute pan. Over high heat add fish and sauce. Reduce and cook until fish is done.

Taco

8 each Bread, sliced
2 Tablespoons Butter
1/3 cup stewed tomatoes
Red Pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste

Slice bread thinly and cut with a small cookie cutter. Brush bread with seasoned butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Pea Puree

1 small Onion, thinly sliced
4 cups Frozen Sweet Peas
¼ cup heavy cream
8 Tablespoons Butter
Salt & Pepper, to taste

Over medium heat sweat the onion until translucent remove and reserve. Place the peas into a pot of salted boiling water until done. Place the peas and onions into a blender. Add heavy cream and butter. Blend until you have the consistency of mash potatoes.

Peas & Carrots

24 each Baby Carrots
8 ounces Fresh Peas or Frozen8 Tablespoons Butter
2 cloves Garlic, sliced
2 each Oyster or Regular Mushroom
2 each Shallots, sliced
Salt & Pepper, to taste

Sauté the peas & carrots in brown butter season with salt and pepper. Sauté the mushroom with the garlic and shallots. Re-season to taste.

Sauce

4 ounces Prepared Veal Stock (can be found in Specialty Store)
2 bottles Shock Top beer
1 each Onion, rough chopped
6 ounces Mushroom, rough chopped
1 each Bay Leaf
4 each Peppercorn

Assembly
Place a spoonful of the pea purée in the center of the plate top purée with Rockfish. Randomly place the peas and carrots around the purée. Finish with sauce. Serve immediately.

What the song is about is kind of cruel if something like that could happen to some people or somebody but I like it..maybe because I can relate to it. I definitely think that teachers, especially in the public schools, are underpaid. I'm not a teacher but I feel that they deserve much more. Considering what they have to put up with in public schools, they not only teach but they are also like the second parents. I have a very high respect for teachers who do actually teach and care about students. However, not all teachers are heroes. Some of them don't really care. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of being a part of a class who is being "taught" by really horrible teachers.

Without teachers, I don't know where we would all be. That's why I consider teachers one of our modern day heroes. They deserve more..both in respect and salary.

Yankees' playoff hopes starting to slip away

After losing to the Angels again today with the score of 3-2, the Yankees find themselves 8 games behind the division leaders Tampa Bay Rays and 4 games behind second place Boston Red Sox.

Here's my question, why did they trade Kyle Farnsworth..?? They were on such a roll right after the All Star break. The Bullpen was pitching lights out. They were winning. But they traded one of their good closers for another catcher Ivan Rodriguez for Farnsworth. Molina was doing a great job catching for the Yanks, so why get another one? Now the Yanks' bullpen has been shaky to say the least. They lost to the Angels on a tied game in the 9th inning. Who lost the game? the bullpen. That's the exact same thing that happened the previous game against the same team. The bullpen just fell apart. It was a close game until the bullpen gave up 8 runs... 8 RUNS in the 8th inning....sigh.....enough rambling about the Yanks.

They might not make it to the playoffs....

Unfortunately, those statements are untrue. The truth is, if a person wants to lose weight, he/she needs to work out more than what is advertised.

A 30 minute of walk doesn't mean you burned the calories of the brownie that you ate. People have these myth that if they walk for 30 minutes, they burned most of the calories that they gained when they ate something that is fattening. Everybody wishes that all of those statements that you read above is that simple to accomplish.

My advice is, make time to work out. If you have time to surf through the Internet, watch TV or talk on the phone, chances are you can have time to work out. If you are not an active person or play sports for example, then you need to work out to get your metabolism going. Yes, it means you have to sacrifice some of your TV staring and your mouse-clicking to make changes in your body. Because at this day and industrial age, everything has been made to make our lives simpler. Well, here is the effect of that..where people not doing enough naturally physically to maintain a good health..and that's why you need to make time to work out.

Mens Basketball: USA too much for CHINA

From the start, China was blazing. They came out with the enthusiasm and fire and excitement that made the first and second quarter of the ball game really interesting and fun to watch but towards the second half, the United States was just too much for China. Too much talent on the floor and the US clamped down on defense.
In the first half of the game, China was hitting a lot of their three point shots but the second half was almost the complete opposite. Great effort for China, but unfortunately their effort was well short of even making it close towards the end of the game. Dwane Wade led the United States with 19 points followed by LeBron James with 18. Up next for the USA is Angola....Hhhmmmmmm...anyone smelling an upset..?

Mens Basketball USA vs CHINA

First game on the men's basketball will be the USA against the host country of the Summer Olympics, China. This should be interesting. Chinese are very big basketball fans. They love their center superstar Yao Ming. In my opinion, this game would be like being in a gold medal game and a good "measuring stick" so to speak, for the Chinese National Team. For the Americans, on the other hand, the pressure is on to not lose the first game in their so called "Road to Redemption" in the Olympics.

What would it mean if the United States loses to China? It would definitely be a big boost of confidence for not only the Chinese team but for the entire country. Although it would only be the first game for the US, if they lost, it would be a real blow to their confidence coming into the Olympics. It would a game that they would love to take back and play it again...but of course this is just all speculation...I can't wait for this game.

The Mac man dies at age of 50 due to a condition called sarcoidosis. I just heard the news on TV.. and I'm shocked..! I'm a Bernie Mac fan. Incase you don't know him, he was the black guy in the movie Transformers. He was also in Oceans 11,12,13 and Charlies Angels just to name a few. But he is best known for his ability to make people laugh. A great comedian....I thought he was recovering from that illness since it was reported on Friday.....but now he's dead...Wow...I'm just stunned....RIP Mr. Mac...

For some reason I feel like crap today. I feel like not doing anything. I don't feel like going to work. I don't feel like talking to anyone. Maybe I'm currently depressed..If I am depressed, I don't really know why. Maybe I really am depressed. Last night I was watching Everybody Loves Raymond, but never laughed, didn't even smile....I usually laugh, not just laugh but laugh out loud even though the shows are reruns. So there really is something bothering me..

My life is full of disappointments. I don't usually write personal stuff online because guys/men don't really write about how they feel but I don't know...I just have this urge to get these "crap" inside me, out...

Also last night, a few barkadas (meaning good friends) from home sent me text messages, saying that they are going to have a get together and just hang out..maybe have a couple of drinks..I miss those simple things. How I wish I was there. Their text is probably what made me cheer up and smile a little bit. Almost everyone who has watched the movie said it was great. Heath Ledger did such a great Joker that people loved to hate him and felt pity for him at the same time. Batman on the other hand, was talking like he had sore throat. Why is that?? Asked my sister who watched The Dark Knight a few days ago. My cousin, who I talked to on our recent family reunion said, "I liked the movie but the way Batman talked was annoying..I kind of ruined it..".

I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't comment on what they said but based on the previous Batman movie, Batman Begins, I have already noticed that voice thing. I don't know, maybe its worse in this new movie...

On a 3 way deal, the Dodgers get Manny Ramirez. The Red Sox fans get what they wish for. I guess the Red Sox organization are fed up with the future hall of famer that they got rid of him eventhough the push for the playoffs is fast approaching. Could Red Sox have put up for two more months? and give themselves a chance to maybe win another world series? I guess they didn't think Manny would care because he has stated in a recent interview with ESPN Deportes that he is unhappy and that's probably why they got rid of him.

Will Manny be happy in LA? Will he be the more productive Manny of old? I don't know, we don't know..But the Dodgers hope he will be.

Earlier this afternoon, the Marlins were said to be holding a slim chance of pulling off a trade for Manny Ramirez.

The Palm Beach Post is reporting that a tentative three-way deal has been reached between the Red Sox, Marlins and Pirates and after Manny's comments from earlier today, it's not hard to see why Boston might have been forced to commit to a trade that might bring only Pittsburgh's Jason Bay plus unproven prospects in exchange for Ramirez's Hall of Fame talent.

"The Red Sox don't deserve a player like me," Ramirez said. "During my years here, I've seen how they [the Red Sox] have mistreated other great players when they didn't want them to try to turn the fans against them.

"The Red Sox did the same with guys like Nomar Garciaparra and Pedro Martinez, and now they do the same with me. Their goal is to paint me as the bad guy," Ramirez added. Architecture in Beijing

Because of the Olympics, Beijing's architecture is suddenly becoming one of the iconic in the world. Bejing's landscape has changed drastically.

The nest-shaped stadium for the 2008 Olympic games, designed by Piere de Meuron is one of the more interesting, "never been done before" kind of design.

Another is the the dome shaped National Grand Theatre, designed by Paul Andreu.

And the latest of the buildings that are newly built in Beijing is the CCTV or the China Central Television Building designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Which to me, is probably the most recognizable of all the buildings. I guess you could this cantilevered, block-formed, looks like unbalanced building will put Beijing on the map..in terms of recognizable architectures. This building is like London's Big Ben or Paris' Eiffel Tower or Sydney's Opera House. When you see this building in a magazine or a newspaper or read about it somewhere, you would automatically say, "Ah..this building is in Beijing..".

The design looks simple because at first glance, its just simple blocks or rectangles that was put together but the truth is, its a complex building in terms of the size how those "blocks or rectangles" are put together. As much as it's a challenge to gravity, the building is a challenge to the mind, critics say, defying conventions of skyscrapers as vertical shafts thrusting straight up. Its engineering is so complex that the designers say such a building couldn't have been built a few years ago. That's because it took immense computing power to ensure that the design could withstand huge pressures in the earthquake-prone capital. Some 10,000 tons of steel were used in its construction.

A very modern design in a place and country where there is a lot of tradition.

Not so excited about our upcoming Family Reunion

A family reunion will be on Aug. 2. I don't know what to expect. I have not seen my relatives who live here in the U.S and Canada for a long time...I'd say about 5 or 6 years now. I'd probably be baby sitting my younger cousins like the usual. Anyway, I don't mind because I have fun playing and messing around with them. Probably piss them off and have try to retaliate all day long. And if they fail, they would just probably get pissed even more.
I know whats coming. I've done it before...like beating them at their own game. Namely being a wise ass, being annoying, and beating them in their video games..hehehe..that's probably why they don't start messing with me. I think I'm the one who instigates the whole thing.

I guess thats how reunions are when you don't have someone your age to talk to or hang around with. Its either old people or uncles or aunties or little cousins.

If I hang around and talk to my grand parents, I get bored. They ask the same questions over and over, they always ask you for something like get me some food or soda or "get my purse" or whatever. If I hang out with my uncles and aunts, they treat me like a little kid and never stop telling me to do stuff. So, I guess the only choice left is messing with my little cousins.

Almost 17 years later, Spencer Elden who's naked baby photo was on that album cover is now a teen.

"Quite a few people in the world have seen my penis," he says from his home in Los Angeles. "So that's kinda cool. I'm just a normal kid living it up and doing the best I can while I'm here."

Elden's naked participation in this important moment in music history was rather accidental because Kirk Weddle, the photographer working on the cover, was simply a friend of Spencer's dad, Rick.

Elden now has his own band. That's right his own rock band on XBox. "I know that's not a real band! That's the difference between the '90s and kids nowadays; kids in the '90s would actually go out and make a [real] band!," he says. Elden ironically, yearns for the era that gave Kurt Cobain, the lead singer for Nirvana, so much angst. He thinks that time and era was much "cooler" than it is now.

In some places, that image or photo of the album stuck. The other day, his friends spotted a giant Nevermind photo on the floor of a record store in Hollywood.

"My friend is all like, 'Hey I saw you today.' And I'm like, 'Dude, I was working all day.' And he's like, 'No, I went to Geffen Records, and you're on the floor and you're floating and I stepped on your face. 'Cause I guess they have like a floating thing where people can like walk on me and stuff ... so it's kinda cool," he says.

I read an article online about Hybrid cars being a risk to blind people or the visually impaired. Since it is nearly silent, hybrid cars pose a serious threat of injury and death to blind and visually impaired people, says the American Council of the Blind, which is pushing the auto industry and government officials to develop ways to reduce this danger.

"Imagine you are a blind person traveling independently with the aid of your cane, something you have done confidently for years," Dr. Ron Millman, chair of the council's public relations committee, said in the news release.

"You are crossing a fairly busy intersection. You listen for sounds of approaching cars. All cars seem stopped. Suddenly, you hear screeching brakes. Too late, you realize a quiet, nearly silent, hybrid car is only a few inches from you. Panic takes over. Every sense of survival says to run, but where? There is not time to escape as you face this horror and possible life-threatening situation."

Walk for Alzheimers

There are more than 600 communities that have walks. Its Only about 2-3 mile walk on cool and lovely weekend in fall. Lets help raise awareness, help raise funds for Alzheimer care and help raise funds for support. The Alzheimer's Memory Walk will gladly take volunteers of any age.

I am definitely going to check their website and find a community that supports Alzheimer's Memory Walk. You can do your part and do the same...You and I can walk for a cause. If you are unable to walk, you can still help by just being a volunteer and help with event planning or joining with local event committee.

Until you have a family member who has been affected by Alzheimer's, you would never how it feels when your father or grand father forgets who you are and everybody else in your family. My grand father suffers from this disease, that's why I am passionate about helping.

There is actually a movie that comes to mind, The Notebook. I don't know if you have heard of it or have seen in. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

About five years ago, My old, hand me down car from my aunt broke down. I was on my way back from school when all of a sudden the engine died. I was stuck on a busy intersection and causing a traffic jam. This wasn't the only time that happened with that car. I spent god knows how much on repairs. That latest incident was the last straw. I got fed up! So I traded in that old piece of junk for a new one. I obviously wasn't thinking that I only had a part time job because I was also going to school. I didn't really think it through. I had bills to pay. I had the cars insurance that I wasn't really thinking about when I got the car. I just acted on the fact that I was frustrated with driving such an unreliable car. A car that keeps on getting me trouble and getting me embarrassed.

I obviously bit more than I could chew. I couldn't do anything but deal with the payments. Maybe sometimes that what happens when you're fed up. You don't really think about the entire situation. If I had talked to someone about getting a car before I got one, I would have probably bought a used certified car that is still in great shape and would surely cost a lot less than buying a brand new one. If I had known about Debt consolidation, I would have had some help about the financial hole that dug. It would have gotten me some Debt relief or Debt help. Kelly Slater Wins 4 out of 5 WCT events

Talk about dominating the sport of surfing. This guy is an 8 time world champion and by the looks of it, He is on his way of capturing his 9th world title after winning the Billabong Pro JBay in South Africa. He has won 4 out of 5 events so far with 6 WCT events remaining. Winning a world title now a days is so difficult. There are a few great surfers who have never won a world title let alone 9..! My favorite surfer, Andy Irons, has won 3 titles and is one of the most respected and well known surfers in the world but is still dwarfed in terms of world titles by the Michael Jordan of surfing, Kelly Slater.

At this point, I don't really think anyone can stop him from claiming his 9th world title. Joel Parkinson from Australia, is in distant second in the current standings while Bede Durbidge also from Australia is in third.

My Dream Home

My Dream home would have to be a home with an ocean view. A house that has large open spaces and large windows or openings facing the beach and the water. It doesn't necessarily have to be big or be a mansion, just a well thought out floor plan with a porch in the back where you can sit and unwind and have a nice cold drink. Aaahhhhhh...Makes me relaxed just thinking about it. Being that my dream house is right near the beach, it would have to be built in a place where the climate is warm. I love the sun and the beach. There's just something about that combination that relaxes me.

And of course, since I love to go surfing, that property would have to have a good breaking wave nearby..Whether that wave be a point break, beach break or reef break, it doesn't matter as long as its a good one. That would really be my dream home.

I actually have designed and thought of the plans for that house even though I can't afford it......yet..!!

War Games 25th Anniversary back in theaters

There was a lot of great movies in the '80's. There was the Steven Spielberg's instant classic E.T., which had this magic and had the ability on kids like me to be believable. I really thought that there might me an E.T. after watching that movie.
Another movie that I remember clearly and loved watching was Ghostbusters. That movie also had my imagination stirring and believing that there could possibly be a ghost like slimer, that green and always hungry ghost friend they had flying around.

But the movie that really inspired me and wanted to be something or someone when I grew up was Top Gun. After I saw that movie, I couldn't stop watching it again and again. I said to myself, "That's what I want to become when I grow up". Unfortunately, that dream never came true. I just thought it would be so cool being one of those elite people who could fly such an awesome machine...and of course that beautiful lady that came with being a Top Gun.

The return of the movie WarGames in theaters just brought back some memories of 80's movies. It will be showing nationwide on July 24 but only for that day. This sci-fi thriller movie stars a young Matthew Broderick who played a hacker who gets the chance to play a game with the US Military's war computer. You will also see never-before-seen interviews with film’s creators and cast. And also, on this day only July 24Th, you will get a sneak peek at the making of the sequel – WarGames: The Dead Code. While most people are complaining that its too hot, I sure am not. I love the warm weather. I have waited for summer to come all winter long. Now that it's here, I'm loving it. Last night, I just sat on our porch and just took in the lovely breeze and the nice somewhat mild air in my face. You certainly can't do that in the winter. Summer...keep it coming!!!

Dogs or Cats

I love both. Cats are affectionate animals. They purr and rub their tail around your legs and sit on your lap. We had a pet cat when I was quite young. I loved to play with him especially with a ball of yarn or a Jack stone ball. He would go nuts chasing after a bouncing Jack stone ball. Our cat used to climb on tables and almost every where he can and then break things or ruins something because of scratching. That's probably the only thing I don't like about cats.

At the moment, we have a dog. Hummer, the name of our dog, is also very active but in a good way. Instead of chasing a Jack stone ball like our previous pet cat, he loves chasing his tennis ball even though he has a difficult time biting it or grabbing it with his mouth. Very well trained dog, He doesn't pee or poop in our house but instead waits for us to walk him and does his business on the street. Very affectionate too. He jumps on the couch with you while you're watching TV. Barking would probably be the negative thing about dogs but I'm not complaining about that with our dog. He seldom barks and is very friendly with everyone he sees or comes in contact with...even strangers.

So right now, I'm a dog person. But I still like cats as well.

I love watching comedy shows..specially stand ups. Like Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, the reality TV show Last Comic Standing..and now Glenn Beck. This guy is hilarious! He cracks me up with some smart comedy and he has a great sense of humor. If I would compare him to someone, he would probably be close to a John Stewart type of comedy who I also love watching. I guess being a radio and TV host and a commentator, gives him a presence on stage. You could say this guy is a performer just like some of the comedian standouts that I have mentioned. Anyway, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's newest family members arrived Saturday night. Jolie gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl by Caesarean section. I don't really care about celeb gossip but this one just blows my mind. Millions of dollars for baby pictures?? WOW..!

Let the frenzy begin. I'm sure the paparazzi's are going to hound them like sharks smelling blood in the water. Privacy is a big price to pay for being famous.

Only female Afgani Olympian missing

Middle distance runner Mehbooba Andyar, goes missing in Italy last week while she was on her way to the Olympics in China. Friends and co-athletes have not seen her since July 4, when she left her training facility in Formia, Italy. Authorities are not ruling out any possibilities. Hmm...did she get lost in Italy..? I hope she's ok. In a recent interview, Andyar said, "I'm the model for my country, being a woman in a typical Muslim nation. I'm very proud to say that I will be participating in the Olympic Games. By virtue of these opportunities, many women from my country are participating in many sports, and this will help to develop a better managed country."

In a war torn country, and for her to be the only female olympian, she would and probably is a great inspiration not only to her countrymen but to females around the world. I'm reall hoping she's ok because she would be a "light" so to speak in these up coming olympics in China.

I'm not very good with hitting on women in bars or parties or where ever girls may be..Especially beautiful women. Nothing comes out. I mumble and fumble and next thing you know, the only good thing I did was just smile. I shouldn't be nervous right? because I'm not going to make a speech in front of a huge audience...right! Well not for me. Public speaking and trying to hit or flirt with a beautiful woman are both nerve racking.

But, believe it or not I achieved victory hair by flirting or hitting with a gorgeous girl in a friends party. What is a victory hair? Its what happens to your when something crazy or magical happens. Its when your hair looks like a troll's hair. But what really makes a victory hair is the smile on your face that goes with that hair. Anyway, a friend of mine who hosted the party, introduced me to this girl when I arrived my friends house. As the party was winding down and was getting late and everybody was slowly doing their exits, I was relegated to help with a little cleaning. That's how good of a friend I was. When I was about to take the trash out, I saw that beautiful girl whom my friend introduced me to earlier. She was just so beautiful that I couldn't stop staring. She noticed me looking at her and she said "Hi..". Here's the first step that I did to get that victory hair.

I came up to her and introduced myself and told her that I was the one introduced to her earlier that night and I apologized for staring at her. Then we got to talking. Just talking...and I just complemented her on how beautiful she was and that she was "perfect". She replied, "Ah that's sweet! You're just saying that..and you know that's not true because no body's perfect". Out of no where here's what I said, "Yeah, you're right no body's perfect including those famous people but when you smile, for me, you're close to perfection.." I was so surprised that I had said that. Me?? Mr. fumble and mumble?? I had no idea where that came from. But I made her smile and I mean she smiled. And she just looked at me and I was doing the same.

I was supposed to take out the garbage right? NOPE! Left the garbage bags on the floor while that beautiful girl and I talked and then we left to get something to eat. WALL·E: Pixar can do no wrong

WALL·E is Pixar's ninth full length movie and continues their success in film making. The movie evokes much emotion. The enchanting tale of a lonely robot's quest for companionship is one of the studio's finest films. I have been a fan of animated movies since I was quite young. Pixar's movies have made me a fan of animated movies even more and surely a fan for life. For some reason, when I watch animated movies, it relaxes me, it takes me away from the daily grind and daily worries of life. I guess you could say its my "pill"..Happy pill that is. When I watch animated movies, somehow it just takes away the stress. This newest movie from Pixar does that and much more. Great story telling by director Andrew Stanton, who also directed and or co-directed Pixar movies such as A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo.

If you guys haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend watching it. If you don't want any advice from me with regards to which movies to watch, read the film critics that get paid to write reviews. I'm sure you won't find anybody who wrote that WALL·E stinks.

Just got back from wildwood, NJ

I just got back from a weeks vacation from Wildwood, NJ. Its about 2 1/2 to 3 hours south from where I live. It was a great experience. The weather wasn't that cooperative because it rained 3 out of the 7 days we were there. But, when the sun came out, we were soaking it up! We went on those giant water slides with an almost 90 degree drop and that had a big raft where there was 5 or 6 of us riding in it. There was a few time where the raft just swayed so much coming from one corner to the next that it almost flipped over and half of the raft was sticking out of the giant slide....that made my heart race..! It was scary but a fun..!

We also hit the beach where you could see the sights..*wink*...of course the beach, the water and the sun was a lovely sight too...=) When we jumped in for a dip, it felt like I got stabbed by tiny needles. The water was so cold that just a few minutes spent in the water, I was numb like a piece of wood. My lips were purple, my hand was shaking. Basically everything was shaking and something shrunk too..hahaha..!! I also tried to surf because there were some 3-4 foot waves but like I said, I just couldn't take the really cold water.

So we went on some coaster rides. We also went on those extreme rides like the slingshot, free fall and the propeller (that's what I call it). We also tried those games where you could win some prizes like stuff toys and game jerseys and even the latest gaming systems. My friend always wins when he plays that water-shooting game.,so now his wife has a lot of stuff toys. I, on the other hand tried that game where you try to knock out three blocks at one time with one throw using a bean bag, I only managed to knock out two. The third block was so close to edge.!! I was cursing! because had I knocked the third block, I would have won a 4 gig iPOD. oh well....

We just got back from wildwood yesterday, and I'm already missing it.

Who doesn't love food? I sure love food. I'm the person who really isn't picky when it comes to food. Anything that is edible, I eat. American food, Italian food, Indian food, Mexican food, Filipino food, Chinese, Japanese...you name it. But the food that I love the most is seafood. Anything that's seafood pretty much hits the spot for me. Whenever I see any time of seafood, I know that I'm going for that. An instant classic at Wimbledon

The 5 time and reigning Wimbledon champion Roger Federer was dethroned by Spaniard Rafael Nadal on Sunday by beating him in a 5 set instant classic. Nadal faught off a Federer comeback after leading 2 sets to none. When Federer lost the first two sets, he started a comeback that tied it to two sets a piece and won sets 3 and 4 on tie breakers. If he won the fifth set and the match, it would surely be a comeback for the ages. But Nadal had a different idea. He wanted to win this so badly because he is that close to beating this guy who he lost to 2 consecutive times here at Wimby. That he did. The match became the longest in Wimbledon history and is an instant classic at that. Nadal is the first player to win Wimbledon and the French open since Bjorn Borg did it. Congrats Rafael Nadal..!

Crying and Faking in Boxing

Francisco Lorenzo’s actions at the end of his fight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center with Humberto Soto on Saturday were cowardly (deep inside he cried), revolting and disgusting. Did I mention he cried deep inside? He was beaten like a punching bag and clearly over matched by Soto, who was on the verge of one of his most impressive knockouts.

A mistake by referee Joe Cortez started a weird sequence that resulted in Lorenzo faking a head injury to win a fight he was about to lose.

Lorenzo had been knocked down once in the fourth round and was on the verge of going out as Soto pursued him into a corner. When Soto moved in for the kill, Cortez jumped between the fighters, apparently to stop the fight.

“It was definitely a mistake and Joe acknowledges that,” said Keith Kizer, the executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission.

After the WBC reviewed the tape, they determined that they would ignore the official decision which was Lorenzo winning the fight by disqualification to Sotto. The WBC now declares the super featherweight title open. Previous title holders includes Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales. No wonder they didn't want Lorenzo to keep the title and the belt, because previous holders were great champions....not some sleazy guy who faked an injury. So who's crying now? definitely not Soto.

2008 Wimbledon looking very Interesting

Rafael Nadal just won his match today versus the scotish Andy Murray. Murray came back from a two set deficit his previous match against Richard Gasquet from France but could not do it again against the over powering, hard charging and determined No. 2 seed from Spain. Nadal won in straight sets. On the other hand, if Roger Federer wins his match against Mario Ancic, then both Nadal and Federer will be in the semi finals and expected to win their respective matches. If the tennis Gods be so kind to let Nadal and Federer win, then we would have a 3rd consecutive Nadal vs. Federer Final at Wimby. That, as they say, "Would be a Cracker..!".

As for the women's, It looks like we would also have a very interesting match up in the Finals if both Williams sisters can get there. Right now, both of them are in the semi finals and a match win away from a Serena vs. Venus Finals. That said, Venus still has to deal with no.5 seed, Elena Dementieva. While Serena has to deal with the first ever Chinese player to reach a grand slam semi final, Jei Zheng.

Lets just keep our fingers crossed so that those match ups in the '08 Wimbledon Finals would happen.

Lets Pimp out your Gnome

The game Dungeon Runners gave us something extra. Its like they gave us sprinkles or hot fudge on our ice cream. They gave us Bling Gnome, a some sort of hip hop gnome as your collector of dropped gold and even pick up and convert non-rainbow colored and non-purple colored items to gold. Of course, with an assistant like that following you around, who needs an accountant? But don't ask me why they chose a gnome to follow you around. Maybe they should have chosen a leprechaun or that character in the lucky charms commercial...LOL!
It's an addicting game, kinda like Diablo II addicting. Dungeon Runners is a Free Fantasy MMORPG game where you explore a world of dungeons and monsters and exciting battles, with the help incredible and high powered weapons of course. You can take on all the monsters that come your way alone or with a team of your online friends. It has cool 3D graphics, cool virtual world and an overall cool game concept. I just recently told my 12 year old cousin about this game, and he loves it. He plays it more than I do. If I played with him, he would probably make look like an 80 year old. He would probably laugh and talk some smack...

Needed help on Blogging

Talk about being a newbie on blogging..! If there was a book that was titled Blogging for Dummies, I would be on the cover. Wait a sec,.maybe there is such a book, maybe my face is on there and I didn't know it. Anyway, I've been checking sites or blogs or something that would help me about bloging. I don't know what the heck RSS is for or what it does. I found a blog, that helped me out a little bit and gave some idea as to what I should do to make my blogging better and of course make money from blogging. This blog by "Mr. Javo" has a few healthy tips blogwise like monetize your blogs, make new friendships, visit other blogs and etc. Reading some of his tips gave me a little bit of light, so to speak.

I still need a lot of help with regards to blogging. Please feel free to leave me comments with regards to this. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm excited to go to Wild wood this coming 4Th of July weekend. My friends, sisters and I have rented out a place that's really close to the boardwalk and close to all the roller coaster rides and the of course close to the beach, for a week..!! Fun in the sun! I hope there are waves next week so I can go surfing...! I can't wait..!! It's going to be expensive though...but who cares..Its going to be fun. I just hope we won't have crappy weather next week....

NEW DIRT DEVIL: Cleaning your house and everything else

My sisters came home one day and they were oh so giddy. I asked them, "What's with the two of you? Why so happy and jolly and all smiles?" They said they came from the spa and had a facial. They said it felt so nice and wonderful and clean and refreshing and all of that stuff.... I looked at their faces, and they were right. They had a reason to smile because their skin looked great. It was really nice and smooth, just like those people in magazines.
I, on the other hand, had a face that looked like the surface of the moon. Pimples or zits all over my face. Crevices filled my face just like a toasted bread. It's causing me to be self conscious. What am I going to do? I tried all of those acne products. I can't afford to go to a spa just like my sisters do and besides what would my friends think if they knew or found out that I went to a spa to get a facial??
When I asked them about what the pedicurist, i mean dermatologist exactly do to make their face the way it is, they said one of the dermatologist used was something that used suction. NHRA Drag Racing at OLD BRIDGE RACEWAY

My first time watching a LIVE NHRA event in English Town, New Jersey was both memorable and exciting. First of all, I would like to extend my deepest condolence to the Kalitta family because of the tragedy that happened on Saturday during qualifying. Scott Kalitta died when his car's engine blew up during the qualifying's final round. He went to the end of the race track while bursting in flames and hit the end of the retaining wall. He died from multiple serious injuries.

My uncle and I were stunned. Everybody on the track was too. We were obviously hoping for the best and that Scott would just walk away from it but we were wrong. We just couldn't believe it when we got home and heard the news that he was gone.

The next day, which was race day, we came back and watched the races. It was a somewhat somber mood, not many people were too ecstatic when it came to expressing their excitement during the heats but I'm sure they were still happy to see some racing.

My first NHRA experience however was absolutely amazing..! I just couldn't believe that those engines could literally blow you away. I was standing a few feet from one of the Top Fuel cars when they were heating the engines up before a heat, and the sound and the air and the fumes coming from it was nothing that I ever expected. I almost dropped my camera. One thing I will never forget was when I heard the cars for the first time on the race track. When they let it all out and "gas it" from the starting line, it felt like the sound just penetrated through my ears and into my brain and shook it and then proceeded to exit through my eyes. WOW..!!!! The sound on TV doesn't do it justice..! The speed is also amazing. If you haven't experienced going to an NHRA drag racing event, I recommend that you go and get ready to be blown away...!!! I had a very memorable time. RESULTS HERE.

Its an alarming statement, and all the more so because there has been a recent decline in the honeybee population. But its also comforting to know that Einstein never really said that. The quotation appears on a blackboard near the beginning of M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening," a movie that I think I understand. When you watch this film, you might find it boring or uneventful like I did but once you start thinking, "what the hell was that about?", you will realize that it's about us humans, self destructing. At least that's how I see it.

Maybe this movie's purpose was to make us think of the recent things that are happening in our world. Is the human race on its final chapter? Its been in my mind lately. The Global warming. The rising of sea level. The drastic changes in the weather. We have recntly more deadly earthquakes. Have we pushed our planet so far or have we used it up that it can no longer sustain us? That's a scary thought.

But as for the movie itself? It doesn't really cut it like the director's (M. Night Shyamalan) previous movies that he made like The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable or maybe Signs.
